    Caribbean or Hawaii ????

I agree with ronrosa. I recommend Kona on the Big island and Sandwich Island Dive Shop. Nice folks, no crowded boats. Be sure to book the Manta Ray night dive. It's spectacular!

You are just the guy I am looking for! Do you know Nemo Dive Travel in Singapore? They seem to be consolidators. Are they reliable? Are there any other dive travel consolidators in Singapore that you would recommend? I will be in Singapore for 3-4 days in July. Let me know if there is...

I loved everything about Gangga Island and would return in a heartbeat. Very well run. Was there 6/06. Heard good things about Siladen. But have no personal experience there.

Taveuni Island Resort and Swiss Fiji Divers

Taveuni has great diving. I went with Swiss divers and would not go back there again. Check out Tyrone. He is the premier dive master/instructor on the island and recently opened his own shop. Lots of personal attention, very safe diving and a personable guy. I know you can find him on the...

    book trip when we arrive?

i agree with Tim. I booked Heron Island when i arrived and for half the USA price. I hear the best deals are around Airlie Beach from consolidators. They book all the unsold inventory for resorts & liveaboards on a last minute basis. Like Hotwire, only better. have a great time. mimi

    Indonesia - Wakatobi Resort

Happy to oblige. I am a physically disabled diver. I use a cane to walk. A big factor in my decision to join the group dive trip was predicated on the resort & their staff being willing and able to assist me on dives. Although the travel agent assured me it would not be any problem, it...

    Indonesia - Wakatobi Resort

The most breath-taking critters, creatures, corals & color can be found in these pristine waters. Although my dive trip to Wakatobi was not without problems, all was generously rectified by their sales director, Henrik Rozen, when I received a brand new Aeries Elite wrist computer! What a...

Need help from you travel types...

excellent choice. lots to do for non-divers too. Condo rental facing the water is your best and most economical bet. Food is expensive. everything is shipped from the main land. Bring a small stash of non perishable food in your suitcase----breakfast cereal, coffee, bread, peanut butter...

    great white shark dive

we had an excellent shark dive on the Coral Sea itinerary on Mike Ball's Spoilsport live-aboard. Most of the divers had done shark dives elsewhere and thought this one was wonderful. It was my first (and last) and i found it terrifying. so i guess that means it was wonderful mimi

Bonaire 2003 Trip and Dive Report

yes, it is SOP in Bonaire. You do not pay for the dive. It is an excellent way for the dive operation to find out the level of skill you have aquired. And it is equally beneficial for the diver..you get to check out your gear & weights in the water without it costing you a penny. Win/win for...

Bonaire 2003 Trip and Dive Report

i posted my report under the topic "Bonaire...Fall 2003" Don't know how to transfer it over to this topic. Due to my accidental and idiotic injury, i returned home on day 3. with a broken wrist. Nevertheless, i have only words of praise for the hotel & dive staff. I am happy to read...

    Heron Island

I stayed on Heron Island in '02. I enjoyed the resort a lot. The diving was okay but not nearly as good as the the Coral Sea area. I did a CoralSea live aboard, followed by a week at Heron Island. If you can, try to get to dive the Coral Sea.You will see there is a big difference. have a...

    Aggressor Fleet Reputation?

i read the article in Cyber Diver and have to say that my experience on the Kona Aggressor mirrors the sentiment printed in the article. The owner is a nasty, arrogant guy who constantly misrepresents his product. He has no consience about sending out vessels in disrepair and takes no...

Need suggestions for vacation in June.

Returned last nite from 10 day cayman dive trip. Yes, the thimble jellies are out there in hordes But it is the larva from the thimbles that is the culprit of the nasty stings. Having said that, please be advised that I did not get one single sting. I attribute this good fortune to my...

    Which Aggressor Trip?

C'mon guys- i'm not here to fight with you or defend myself. A question was asked by someone wanting info on the Aggressor fleet. I offered my opinion based on my personal experience. Maybe you need to back off a little when someone expresses an opinion that you don't like.

    Which Aggressor Trip?

My experience on the Kona Aggressor was disasterous & dangerous. If your experiences were positive, you are lucky. I am not the only person who feels this way about the Aggressor fleet. But I may be the only one who has the courage to say it in this public forum. I stand by my original comments.

    Which Aggressor Trip?

IMHO --- None. Their prices are seductive. Their ethics & business practices are poor, if not dishonest. There are many other reputable live-aboards to choose from.
