    N2ition Software

I purchased an N2ition two and a half years ago, downloaded the softare, and have used it successfully with an XP OS these last couple of years. I recently purchased a new laptop computer, still running XP, and have downloaded the software from the Zeagle site. Upon running it I see that it's...

Anyone seen snakes while diving ?

I watched a 4 ft water snake and a catfish go at if for a good 15-20 minutes in the Nueces River. The snake had latched on to a 2+ pound catfish just behind the stomach. I was concerned it could have been a Water Mocosin (sp) but after 15-20 minutes and the catfish still had plenty of fight so...

    Diving Marble Falls

I've been to Chalk Bluff several times. Viz can be 40-60ft. But deepest I have found is 10 feet. With the lack of rainfall I'm sure even that will be a challenge. It makes for a good night dive. Lots of fish.

    Wife Trouble.....help!

I did for a while. When it subsided I realized it had more to do in confidence in myself than it did with confidence in her. Slow down (i'm not just talking about swimming speed), take your time, and enjoy the dive. My goal in diving is quality time with her more than it is about SCUBA...

    Which class towards advanced?

If you haven't already, you may want to contact them, explain your situation, and tell them you want to do a night dive, but on a different night. If they understand the level of commitment you have to your choices they may be accomodating . . especially if you're assigned your own instructor.

    Which class towards advanced?

I think that classes in underwater photography and Fish ID are cool and have their place but I personally believe that classes towards an advanced certification should be the type that help you improve your diving skills . . .classes that will make you a safer and more self-sufficient diver...

Compass - don't buy this kind

I guess I got one out of a good batch. I have the dive rite and mine works just fine. I'll be careful, however, about recommending it to others since there are several here reporting it as having some faults. On the other hand, are you sure it's just not being affected by that steel plate in...

    N2ition "function Roadmap"

I too would like to see this. This is a nice little computer but the accompanying documentation is a little weak. This would be a nice addition.

    Bonaire - Nitrox desirable?

If you're getting a free Nitrox upgrade with your trip and plan on doing more than a couple of dives a day you should probably do it. Price seems a tad high but that may be the going rate for the N.Y. Market. Have fun in Bonaire.

    Wetsuit layering question.

I typically dive with a full length 3mm suit. When I need some extra protection I add a 2mm hooded vest. Sometimes I'll use the hood, sometimes not. The vest is sleeveless so no constriction issues.

    Favorite class

Believe it or not I actually really enjoyed learning the tables as part of my OW course. After OW, my funnest class, and the one that most closely met my expectations was my Rescue class. My wife/buddy and I have also set up several underwater Navigation courses at the local lake for our LDS's...

    DAN Tags

My wife and I both wear the ID tag on our BC's. It comes with a little plastic clip that looks a little like a plastic, threaded carabiner. The tag holder is polished chrome so it doubles as a signal mirror.
