So interesting! In the early '70s, I was a founding member and Pres of the UCF (then FTU) dive club! Last year I dove with Dive Heart in the Keys. Would sure like a heads up next time UCF and Dive Heart team up!

The beaches below Sebastian Inlet to Ft Pierce offer decent beach dives. They are very weather dependent, any significant swell will muddy up the water. My rule is to look at the t Pierce inlet buoy. If the seas are greater than 2 ft, diving will probably not be good. Twenty ft is the max depth...

First dive I hoverered above the thermocline, however divers below air bubbles sent the cold water up to me. Second dive I wore my hooded vest....much more tolerable!
I really enjoy the dive...fossilized whale bones and sand dollarsembedded in the walls...It silts up easily so stay near the ceilings. It also the warmest spring in FL around 75d. It's a winter dive for me since the ocean is so nice now.

You have to catch Sebastian Inlet midway between high and low tide. You have a very narrow window of slack water and there is tons of fishing line on the bottom...be careful! The beaches below Sebastian to Ft Pierce make excellent dives when conditions are right. When I dive the beaches I watch...
