    Aruba

Yes I would, did a great job at a fair price. I don't have experience with other operators, but this one treated us well.

    Aruba

Wrapping a trip to Aruba right now. Diving has been surprisingly good. Lots of marine life on the sites. Saw two octopus swimming in the open, turtles, and large fish. Lionfish population really varied. Its open season with many divers carrying spears. Quality of the sites seems to be better the...

    Dominica trip report 5/24-31 2014.

Well, I made it home! Part of the adventure in going to Dominica is getting there, and going home was certainly it as well. Flights going down were on time and picked up most of the rest of the group of 12 in San Juan for the last leg to Dominica. Getting to the island is the first part. Getting...

    Seaborne Airlines.

I fly Seaborne into Dominica and LIAT on the way out. Had no problems with either airline and I actually like LIAT's larger planes that hold 68 passengers. The downside was we had to stop in Antigua. But having Seaborne as part of the AA system is definitely a plus in that could book straight...

    Dominica in May

    flights from Cancun to Cozumel?

Now all we need to do is get Frontier, with their direct flights to Cozumel, to participate. Couldn't use the TSA pre-screen on my way down last week because the airline doesn't send your info to the TSA. At least this is what TSA told me on the A gate bridge at the Denver airport last Saturday :(

    flights from Cancun to Cozumel?

Yes its Maya Air, yes I did it once and had no problems. You have to chain terminals in the Cancun airport and there is a shuttle bus that will take you over. No services at the commuter terminal so be aware of that if you think you would want to grab a snack before your flight. As far as...

    Towing a dive flag

I just recently returned from diving out of Boynton Beach where we had some fairly strong currents at the surface so rather than towing the flag, the flag was towing us. The diver with the flag was pulling pulled so fast that the rest of the group were challenged to keep up. Our solution was...

Dive Master Training in the Bay Islands or Caribbean

Well, I have been diving with Coconut Tree Divers and have been impressed with their program. It is very thorough and takes a minimum of 6 weeks, which is why I haven't done it myself.

Battery restrictions at San Pedro Sula Airport (Honduras)

The USA rule is that you can't have lithium batteries in your check in bags, only in your carry on. So if you are using these, you will need to move them from your checked bags to your carry on upon passing through immigration/customs in the USA if you are rechecking in for a domestic flight.

What are the chances that TS Rina will blow out out diving later this week or worse

I hear what you are saying, but if it happened to you twice in 5 years, would you even consider going back?

What are the chances that TS Rina will blow out out diving later this week or worse

I can appreciate the humor, but when even with insurance it costs 4 figures to evacuate last minute for the 2nd time in 5 years, its not as funny as it could be. I'm just glad everyone appears to be ok and damage is minimal.

Can still remember my first dive in Cozumel, how about you?

Mine was with Dive House off of a cruise ship. Did two dives, Santa Rosa Wall and Tormentoes. FIrst time I had seen one of the large sea turtles that swam right under me into the current. I was a terrible air hog so the dives were rather short. But I was hooked and came back for my first stay on...

What are the chances that TS Rina will blow out out diving later this week or worse

Well, I am back in Denver..And since this was the 2nd time through this rodeo for me, having had this happen during a SingleDivers trip when Hurricane Dean occured. All I can say is that the one thing with this storm unlike Dean, is that it came out of nowhere, grew fast, and looks to be dying...

    Alternatives to CoCo View?

3 boat dives are doable at quite a few places. Otherwise other than a liveaboard, I would consider returning to Bonaire or maybe its neighbor in Curacao.

Diving Belize off of a cruise ship

This is the one port I recommend using the ship excursion. There is a big advantage of being picked up directly on the ship and avoiding the tender to the mainland, then having to leave from there out to potential dive sites.

Roatan Dive Operators with 100 CuFT Tanks? And accomodations... West End.

Another option would be to do one week on Roatan and one week on Utila. Capt Vern's catamaran shares the same dock with Coconut Tree so getting back and forth is fairly easy.
