    St. John's, checkout dives

We were there for 8 days in mid-May. The forecast for every day called for rain, but we only had one day that was anything more than a half hour or so of showers. Every other day was near perfect.

    St. John's, checkout dives

You and I could order the exact same steak from the exact same restaurant prepared by the exact same chef on the exact same grill, and that does not guarantee that we'll both walk away with the exact same opinion of the flavor, the presentation, or the overall experience at the restaurant. We...

    St. John's, checkout dives

Did you go to STJ yet, ksuba13? We just got back a few days ago. Forecast was rain every day, but there was really only one day with anything more than a handful of showers. All in all, the weather was awesome. As for 6PAQ, I doubt we'll book with them again. While Colette was super nice and...

    Drysuit - DUI TLS-350se

Providing "some people" with inaccurate information simply exacerbates the "hard way". Not sure about your MO, but I typically try to HELP people, not hinder their learning.

    Drysuit - DUI TLS-350se

I don't care if someone posts a PM sent message. But I do care when someone, such as yourself, posts blatently INACCURATE information when a new user (new to discussion forums, based on the question) asks a question. Your answer was wrong. Deal with it.

St John - 6 Paq Scuba

We'll be diving with 6PAQ this weekend and next week. After the discussions, we're betting on the price difference being worth it. :)

St. John USVI report July/August 2009.

You do NOT need a passport (or anything, for that matter) to travel BETWEEN the islands of St. Thomas, St. John, or St. Croix. All three make up the US Virgin Islands, which are US territories. You are neither entering nor leaving the United States and/or a US territory. If you want to go to...

    St. John's, checkout dives

From what I've read, 6PAQ Scuba would be a great choice. And after we dive with them THIS Sunday and Tuesday, I'll let you know! :) ksuba13: It's St. John, not St. John's. You don't want to end up in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, do you? :)

    Drysuit - DUI TLS-350se

My guess is that he was simply trying to point out (to the person asking the question) that your response was not accurate. Saying "PM" does NOT, in fact, mean someone has "first dibs". As was previously stated, many people don't post publicly, but instead just contact the seller WITHOUT the...

    lasik

Had Lasik done a couple years ago. Spent a couple extra bucks to go the ALL laser route (Intralase and Z-Lasik) instead of using the microkeratome (sharp knife) to cut the flap. No pain whatsoever. Wife drove me home, of course, but I could actually see better fresh from the laser than before...

    cleaning a new mask

Well, there's no direct translation for the word "redneck" - I guess that's probably because they don't have many hillbillies in France ... LOL. Red is "rouge" and neck is "cou" or "kiki".

    cleaning a new mask

Soft Scrub has worked well on several masks that I have owned. Did you know that the toothbrush was invented in Kentucky? Had it been invented anywhere else, it would have been called the TEETHBRUSH. :rofl3:

Converting NavCon Veo 180nx to wrist

Not sure if you found your answer, but Oceanic offers wrist boots for both the compass and the computer (two different ones). You can order direct from them, or save some ca$h by contacting scubatoys.com.

    Oceanic VEO180

It's only been 12 days since your question. Would be nice if you received an answer, eh? ;)

Oceanic SWIV 3-gauge console - remove computer & compass section?

I'm planning on removing the computer and compass from my 3-gauge SWIV console, purchased in July '07, and putting each in wrist boots. Can I just leave the upper half (the dark blue part) of the SWIV console off, using the SPG only? Or can I order/obtain *just* the plastic housing (to...

Hey BrazilNut - what's your deal, man?

Since you asked .... Based on this admission of yours: I don't know about others, but "forgetting" to ship something that someone paid me for isn't deserving of "a pass". But they were withdrawn from the buyer's account. If you're going to use this board to sell things, then I suggest that you...

What are some good Scuba Deal Sites?

Have spent thousands (10+ orders) gearing up multiple divers @ Scubatoys.com. They are, hands down, the #1 in customer service, price, and delivery. 100% of everything they sell comes with the manufacturers warranty - they even dropped a few lines of gear that would not let them sell online...

Is this the body of Natalie Halloway:

Hey, I lost a grilled cheese sandwich near Aruba about 5 years ago! Maybe that's it?

    Aluminum or Steel?......

If someone doesn't mind, what's the different/benefit of HPs over LPs (steel) if you can't find anybody to fill an HP to full capacity? Further, are HPs predominately designed for DIN connections? I have been diving for a little over 3 years and have all my own gear, save tanks and weights...

Who is the oldest active diver on SCUBA BOARD?

My dad is a member here. He was certified and dove back in the fifties and sixties. Marriage and kids meant no time to dive, so he hung up the ole' Aqualung. Fast forward to a few years ago (2007) and he re-certified at age 66. In just under two months, we'll be enjoying some SCUBA diving...
