    Anyone here dived in Rarotonga?

Agree with Tinytechie - definitely use Pacific Divers. I spent 2 weeks on Rarotonga in October 2000, and did 4 dives a day with Chrissy from Pacific Divers. The coral was a bit tired but the marine life was stunning - eels, turtles, nudibranchs, sharks and many many tropical fish. On my...

Dive Instructor required, North Queensland, Australia

The company I work for operates day trips to the Great Barrier Reef out of Townsville in North Queensland, Australia. The boat is not a designated dive boat, it is actually a 30metre catamaran that offers passengers the opportunity for snorkelling, glass bottom boat experience and marine...

    GBR snorkeling trip

If you're headed down the coast, you can do the snorkelling day trips out of Townsville (4.5 hours south of Cairns). Sunsea Cruises do a day trip to the GBR, and also have a glass bottom boat and marine biology presentation on board. Beautiful big boat, MV Reef Cat, has capacity for 200 but...

How to pack for 4 day liveaboard trip?

Hi Littleguppie It sounds like you're doing a Mike Ball dive trip... if this is the case, you will be quite comfortable in terms of towels because they provide both towels for bathing and towels for drying off after your dives (they have a clothers dryer on board so you get toasty warm towels...

Canadian Diver in Critical Condition - Yongala wreck dive mishap

To all of Erin's family and friends, I'm so very pleased to hear that her Dad is with her now and that she is showing signs of physical recovery. I am also proud of the ScubaBoard members who have been more concerned about Erin's health rather than what skills (or lack thereof) may have...

Canadian Diver in Critical Condition - Yongala wreck dive mishap

I can't help but think you're being a bit harsh. As someone who crewed a boat going there, you would know that the wreck lies on the ocean floor with very little protection from extremely strong currents that occur fairly frequently. I too have dived the Yongala more times than I can count...

New To The Board...looking For A Good Place To Dive For Shark Teeth

Welcome to the board! If you were headed down under you would probably have luck finding shark's teeth at the Shark Cave off Maroubra in Sydney. Beautiful dive site with (critically endangered) grey nurse sharks frequenting the cave, which is really more like an overhang. Good luck!

Newbe from Jervis Bay NSW Australia

Hi Peter Welcome to the Board. I've done a few dives out of Jervis Bay in the past 10 years. Actually the last wobbegong I saw was at The Docks (I think that was the site's name). Have you ever dived with seals out of the heads? I've heard of them but never actually done it. Anyway...

Canadian Diver in Critical Condition - Yongala wreck dive mishap

I read this article in the local Townsville newspaper today, and since I couldn't locate it online, I thought I would type it up for you. It's a dive incident at the Yongala wreck 90km southeast of Townsville (where Tina Watson was "murdered" by Gabe Watson). I've not heard any updates on this...

Diver Indicted in 2003 GBR mishap

I'm a Rescue Diver living in Townsville, Queensland. I've dived the Yongala a number of times... The word around town is that Mr Watson was seen by a witness from a different boat (Jazz III) holding Mrs Watson in a bear hug with her face close to his chest for several minutes. It has been...
