I have been bringing my pony, with the valve out for years, in carry on. Does anyone know if that has changed?

Bring your gear in carry on! Also carry on your log book so nothing can happen to it. I had a suitcase full of gear "lost" by an airline and lost my log!

If this only happens at the beginning of your dive, and if you are wearing a wet suit, make sure you let water inside and that no air is trapped.

FYI I have never had a problem bringing an empty pony bottle with the valve out on an airplane in my carry on. I just did it again in March going to Cozumel. Shops in the Carribean have never given me a problem filling them. Also a Jersey trained diver.

I never stride into the water with my camera. Boat crews will always hand them to you. The shock of hitting the water could certainly be the problem. FYI, I have also had 1 hair cause a flood.

If you only did 1 boat dive in Coz go back for a week. It never gets old!

Hotel Coz beach is small but nice but the pool is the biggest on the island(so I have been told). Whats really nice is if your group wants, they can wallk to town while you are diving, or use the hotels bicycles to tour.

I agree with Dhboner. I found Punta Cana diving boring! THe southern coasr, which is really on the Caribbean coast, is much better.

Actually, I have had 3 flooded camera claims with them over the last 6 years including last may. They are slow but they have always come through.
