How practical is it to travel with a pony?

I have been bringing my pony, with the valve out for years, in carry on. Does anyone know if that has changed?

    Traveling with your gear?

Bring your gear in carry on! Also carry on your log book so nothing can happen to it. I had a suitcase full of gear "lost" by an airline and lost my log!

If you have never been to Cozumel its an easy answer! Great diving, great island. Many very reasonably priced eateries!

Advice, I thought scubadiving was for me :(

Everyone needs to learn buoyancy control, it takes practice. I wish my legs floated. You can practice mask flooding in the pool, most people don't like it. Your back may have hurt because you were tense or over weighted. I almost gave up diving until I discovered weight integrated BCs. The...

    Problem Descending

If this only happens at the beginning of your dive, and if you are wearing a wet suit, make sure you let water inside and that no air is trapped.

    Question about pony bottles

FYI I have never had a problem bringing an empty pony bottle with the valve out on an airplane in my carry on. I just did it again in March going to Cozumel. Shops in the Carribean have never given me a problem filling them. Also a Jersey trained diver.

Why has your sealed equipment (e.g., camera) flooded underwater, how to prevent that?

I never stride into the water with my camera. Boat crews will always hand them to you. The shock of hitting the water could certainly be the problem. FYI, I have also had 1 hair cause a flood.

I could have written the exact same post about Hotel Coz. We were there the same week. We thought the food was much better than when we were there 2 years ago. There was something good to eat at every meal. We only went out to dinner twice during the week! We had another amazing week diving...

    Another Accommodation Thread…

Hotel Coz beach is small but nice but the pool is the biggest on the island(so I have been told). Whats really nice is if your group wants, they can wallk to town while you are diving, or use the hotels bicycles to tour.

Bear with me here... Just another "which island should we choose" thread

You won't find much about it on line but we had a great trip to Anguilla! I was worried about the diving because none of the online boards had anything but we had 6 great dives. There are several small wrecks in 60 to 80 feet with great vis. Beautiful reefs with overhangs and swim throughs. I...

Diving on Vacation. What to bring?

I have never seen a pony bottle available to rent. We always bring our own since I never make a dive deeper than 80 feet without it! (I am a Jersey diver) Tsa does allow ponys in carry-on empty with the valve out. I have a pvc plug with a small hole that I screw in as soon as I am passed...

    Punta Cana

Diver's Equipment Protection Program (DEPP) - Buyer Beware

Actually, I have had 3 flooded camera claims with them over the last 6 years including last may. They are slow but they have always come through.
