Curacao - Renaissance Curacao Resort & Casino

Diving at the Renaissance will be handled by Caribbean Sea Sports ( Curacao Diving - Caribbean Sea Sports Curacao - diving, dive shop and boat trips ) from the Marriott. If I'm not mistaken there will be a small dive shop, but not a full operation. Probably best to ask the people of Caribbean...

    Scuba Lodge In Curacao

Haven't stayed there myself, but a friend of mine did. He was very happy, especially with the owner. She really wanted to please everybody and worked like crazy (which can be a genuine exception on Caribbean islands) ;) The cool thing about the scuba lodge is that it's almost smack in the...

Our first trip to Curacao is coming up

The Dive Bus will definitely be your best bet on the east side. Especially if you're experienced and like diversity they will take you to the best places and set up a plan together with you. Have fun! :D

    Hotel suggestions for Curacao?

While planning, take a look at the Curacao Now program ( www.curacao.com/now/ ). Many of the hotels and dive operators are participating with pretty good deals and you can even get $100 back on your airfare.....

Opinions on Curacao Marriott's Dive Shop

I did my OW at Caribbean Sea Sports (the dive operator at the Marriott). I was very impressed with their focus on safety. Everything they do is based on that. The rental equipment was good (not of last week but good quality and well maintained). When I was there the boat dives were 8 people max...

    Fish ID slates for Curacao

Hi Storm, You can get the laminated fish slates at every diveshop on Curacao. An example of the one most shops carry is here: Franko’s Curacao Reef Creatures Guide Have fun!!

    Curacao apts or villas?

As your group is mixed with divers and non-divers I would, personally, not go for Westpunt. The west-end is great for diving of course, but besides Shete Boka & the Cristoffel Park there's not much to do and it's a long way from Willemstad. Maybe you should look at some more central locations...

Curacao Recommendations - What not to miss?

Another definite 'not to miss' underwater-wise is Mushroom Forest. The dive op at Cas Abao Beach ( Cas Abao Beach Watersports and Shop ) goes there several times per week. Cas Abao Beach itself is also well worth a visit. Other above-ground recommendations are Christoffel Park and Shete Boka...

    Curacao Help Please!

Flights to Curacao from the US are usually not so much of a problem. Getting a hotel room is, but that's already taken care of :D. July can be pretty busy with people from Europe (summer holidays), but those are not a problem for flights from the US. So, you can probably wait a while with...

    Curacao - 2008-03-02

Hi Ed, Public transport is not very advanced on Curacao (to say the least) so I would not recommend it unless you are looking for an adventure. A taxi would be feasible but the fair just to get to Habitat from the Breezes is the same as you would pay for one day of car rental so it's not the...

Curacao (non-diving question) - thoughts on biking while there?

I guess that using a bike as a means of getting somewhere (so, purely practical) Curacao is not the best place. There are no bike paths, car drivers don't usually take bikers into account and the roads can be pretty terrible for a bike (see Tennessee Slim's comment). For (mountain) biking as a...

    Next trip...Curacao?

Yes, the 'petting stuff' is at the Seaquarium: Curacao Sea Aquarium, Dutch Caribbean . The good thing about curacao is that there actually is more to do than just diving and tanning. A useful site for information is curacao.com, especially this section: Curacao activities and events | Bon Bini...

    Curacao question

Lol, don't worry, there are no 'clothing optional' or 'hedonism-like' resorts on Curacao. The biggest brothel in the Caribbean (I think) is on Curacao, called Campo Alegre, but that's it. Marazul is safe :D

    First time in Curacao

Some cool restaurants: Asia di Cuba (Oriental & Cuban mix) De Heeren (great salads) Intermezzo (good fried eggs for lunch) Mundo Bizarro (very new and eclectic, good, creative cooking)

    Curacao and Bonaire Dive sites

Two useful links for dive locations: Curacao diving and snorkeling | Bon Bini Curacao Dive Site Map - Caribbean Sea Sports Curacao I second the vote for superior producer. It's a great site.

    Curacao - shore diving

I'd suggest Caribben Sea Sports (Curacao dive operator Caribbean Sea Sports Curacao - scuba diving, dive shop and boat trips) or The Dive Bus (The Dive Bus - HOME). The first is located at the Marriott and the second drives you to where you want to go. You could contact these two dive ops and...

    Curacao in December

Water temperature is a relatively constant 80 degrees (give or take 2 degrees). For top-side weather you can check out Yahoo: Curacao Island Weather Forecasts on Yahoo! Weather. Most people that dive Curacao either use a short wet suit or no wet suit at all (the last is not recommended for long...

    Dive trip recommendations

Hi Scooter, Going to Bonaire in december so can't say much about that yet, but I learned to dive on Curacao (Curacao dive operator Caribbean Sea Sports Curacao - scuba diving, dive shop and boat trips) and like diving here a lot. The cool thing is that there's a lot of variety in the kind of...

Type of Booties needed in Curacao

I never use them, but they can come in handy (most beaches have at least some coral debris). The thinner pair would definitely be enough.
