I have two of those solid US Divers (Aqualung) j-valve manifolds that I need to rebuild. Anyone know where I can get a kit for these? I've been googling all morning and can't seem to find a kit although I do have the service manual and even have the part number for the kit (Aqualung #280095)...
I responded to a craigslist ad and picked up a set of what are supposed to be double steel 50's. The tanks are marked Voit with a Voit manifold, two bands and mounted on a black plastic backpack. They are steel (3AA) but have a max pressure of 2250. I thought steel 50's were 1800.:confused...
I came across an ad on craigslist for two sets of AL80 doubles cheap and had a GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) attack and bought them sight unseen. My wife picked them up while I was at work and when I got home I found they didn't have the traditional highlands style bands and isolation...
So I decided to pick up some steel 72's for a little pair of doubles and got a couple of PST's from the 70's. Unfortunately I've got LP72-itis and have found myself looking for more.:D I found an old US Divers tank from the 60's with a 3/4" valve which I decided to pick up because it was only...
I had LP95's and my experience was the same as what was previously described, that sometimes you'll only get a 2400psi fill, especially if your tanks weren't last hydro'd with the +. Then you have one very heavy 80.
I ended up selling the LP95's and now have E8-119's, which are pretty much...
I had a set of LP95's before and since I had a good relationship with a shop, was able to get good fills when I needed. However, whenever I went out of town the only time I got a good fill was when the shop/boat mistakenly thought they were 3000psi tanks. So, I sold that set and will probably...
I've been diving my jets for a while and do love the propulsion. I even have a pair of jets that my dad used to dive so they last forever! Only issue I think is the weight when traveling to warm water destinations. To cut down on luggage weight I have a much lighter pair of fins.
I'm in the process of doubling up some 72's right now. As soon as I get my 2nd tank back from hydro I'll put the set together. I got my bands off the auction site from carpv. He (or she) is located in southern cal. I haven't assembled the doubles yet, but the bands look great.
Thanks for the info. I've been looking for a cheap way to top off some of my small bottles and I happen to have spare first stages in the parts bin so I'll give it a try.:D
My vote goes to reef scuba reels also. You can remove the spool underwater to unjam it (I've done it a couple of times) and they have FREE yearly service... for life. Just send it back to them and they replace anything that needs replacing, steam clean it, and send it back to you. I did it...
I saw this on their website and was very interested. What's your burn time and what do you use for a replacement canister? Also how heavy is this pack? Looks like a great idea.
I've heard about bumping it up to 14.4v but how do you do that? This canister is one of the monster canisters of "back in the day...", fits 2 12v7ah SLA's so I'm sure I can pretty much put anything I want in there.
So when folks bumped it up to 14.4v did they have to get different batteries...
