    Hydro testing?

You can go to these guys, they are one of the few around who is willing to do (+) tests and have all their equipment onsite. It cost me $20-$25 for hydro and viz, no fill included, but they are just around the corner from northeast scuba, so I picked up the tanks, brought them over to northeast...

Cycling a new battery for LED LUX

Yeah, I'm on my second or third cycle and I am getting burn times of about 6 hours now. Something is very wrong for you.

    Spinner Knife Issue

Sorry to hear about the finger, hopefully it missed anything else important. It's just a friction lock sheath, there is no positive lock, so they can pop out at any time. I have had mine fall out a few times, my dive buddy has lost one of his knives. Pretty much every dive knife has a friction...

Adapt second stage w/ swivel for standard hose

Hollis DC2-212 - Dive Right In Scuba - Plainfield, IL $290 for the whole reg, I emailed them and they said the hose can be replaced with a stock miflex one, so any hose should work on this version. I don't know if the internals were redesigned or if there is just an adapter that they use now though.

What kind of car do you use in the winter in Ma?

The volvos we have are all on all-season pirelli tires, and have never been stuck anywhere FWIW.

What kind of car do you use in the winter in Ma?

Go up to the ski areas in NH and you will see tons of Volvo XC70s. We have had the AWD Volvos since 2001 and have loved them, all are more than capable of any inclement weather and can hold a ton of gear. The XC70s are capable of holding upright al80s, a huge space saver and mine is still...

    Daisy Chain Pockets

I don't have them. Having said that, you put things on the outside so you can actually get at them, and so you can put them away without stabbing/cutting yourself. When you have to get a line cutter stat to get out of gillnet, do you want to be fishing around in your pocket or just yank it loose...

    Regulator Service

Quick question, where are you getting these serviced? If you'd prefer to keep it private, feel free to PM me, but I have tried to get my oceanic regs serviced in the Boston area before and didn't feel safe giving the regs to any of the licensed dealers at the time. One stated a reg was perfectly...

North of Boston shops with 02 compatible air

Oxygen compatible air fill. It's extra (hyper) filtered to remove even more impurities so that nothing goes boom. Thus, hyper fill.

    Entry Level Dive Computer

I would suggest the zeagle n2ition, it's reasonably priced and works well. You can get it in console mount or wrist mount, which is what I have.

North of Boston shops with 02 compatible air

Discover diving in Atkinson, NH also does hyper fills. It's just over the border from Haverhill, MA

    MkV extreem vs Signature

Just reread the OP, sorry for any confusion, but I somehow thought you meant double 100/120s. That's what I get for replying after working all day...` I use my 55# with double 108s, and don't own an oxycheq singles wing. All I can say is that the build quality of the extreme is superb, and it...

    MkV extreem vs Signature

Sorry, DS= Dry Suit. If my dry suit floods, then I will be very negative due to the lack of any air in the suit. The larger wing can offset this, so I can swim up.

    MkV extreem vs Signature

I dive the Vertex extreme 360 55#, and I love it. It balances perfectly with my LP 108s. I also like that the extreme wing just has a tiny sewn in patch, no embroidery like the signature, just pure function. I would be careful about going down to 30#, if your DS floods at the start of your dive...

    Oxycheq 3 watt Raider

I don't know how you are able to tell that half the battery is used up, but I can say that just now mine started to exhibit the flickering, which I took to mean the batteries were dying, and swapped the batteries for fresh ones. No flickering now, and I got ~5 hrs of light on the first set...

Bare XCD2 Tech Dry or Trimlam HD Tech Dry

I have the XCD2 tech and my dad has the Trialam HD Tech, and if I had to do it again, I'd go with the trilam. The trilam is built like a tank, dries faster, and weighs less. Not saying the xcd2 isn't a great suit, I love it, but if I did it again, I'd go with the trilam. And make sure to get...

    Dive Rite NITek

I have the Zeagle n2ition, which is the exact same thing, but for less. I love it. So far I only have a week with it, but it worked great. FWIW, I have the dss tech mount, which works great, also that way you have 2 bungess, so redundancy, rather than just a single band. I'd also get the...

    Alpha8/PX3 DVT Discontinued ??

This thread was 2 years ago- the price difference now is because any non-DVT regs are old stock leftovers, and are essentially outdated by the current offerings, so shops have cut prices to clear old inventory.
