    Liveaboards: 'cattle boats' or not?

It seems that a liveboard that has ~20 or less divers is the way to go. (as well as private bathrooms! lol)

    Liveaboards: 'cattle boats' or not?

I was thinking Turks & Caicos, or the Bahamas, or somewhere in the Caribbean(closer to home). I would like to venture further someday(like Australia or Palau) when I can afford to fork over a lot of money to get somewhere. Right now I can't see spending a grand or so on a flight.

    Considering Nitrox Certification

Yes I have DAN insurance. I am a relatively healthy person, and its funny how much better you take care of yourself when you don't have health insurance. However, that is not to say that since I have DAN insurance that I am a careless diver. Diving is pretty much the riskiest thing I do, and I...

    Liveaboards: 'cattle boats' or not?

I am considering the liveaboard experience and I would appreciate some honest opinions. Most of my diving has occurred on trips where I'd been staying @ a resort(usually somewhere in Cozumel). Also, most of my dives were from boats w/ only 5 other divers(Blue XT Sea). I'd rather not talk about...

    Considering Nitrox Certification

I wonder what the "p" values were for those studies, geez, I hope @ least < 0.1 :rofl3: My research professor would find that amusing anyway. She would be so proud of me :D On a more serious note, I wonder how significant the sample sizes were, or if they were 'pilot' studies, or high...

    Considering Nitrox Certification

Wow. That sounds serious. I will definately have to check that out when I get health insurance. For now, I will have to ride it out. :lotsalove:

    Considering Nitrox Certification

Thanks for posting the link to the other thread. It made me realize that I forgot to mention(duh!) that on my last dive trip, I had to be treated for DCS. :shakehead: I definately don't want THAT to happen again. My understanding is that it would be more beneficial to dive nitrox as air, instead...

    Considering Nitrox Certification

Thanks guys! The LDS where I received my open water cert is a SDI agency, which relies on the computer, not the tables. I am not sure if it is the same for the nitrox cert, I will have to see about that. However, I am sure it would be extrremely beneficial to be able to use the tables. Thanks...

    Considering Nitrox Certification

I am thinking about getting a nitrox certification. I heard that nitrox is much more 'refreshing' regular air, leaving the diver less 'fatigued' after diving. I was wondering if it is worth the extra effort(and money). Also, what gear (aside from the computer) will I have to 'upgrade' if I get...
