That Time of Year - Freeflows

I am not as concerned about freeflows..because I know my good old buddy will be there with a reg or an extra stage if needed. Once in a while.. all regs will go in water that cold

Argon vs Air in dry suits

Perhaps the placebo effect...but... Everyone in my peer group notices a difference when using Argon...I don't purge the suit with Argon either..when I compare the same dive with the same water temperature and the same undergarment, we always feel much warmer with Argon. I suggest you...

    Flectalon 300 Undergarment

IS anyone out there actively diving a Flectalon 300 undergarment. There are a few posts about Flectalon on the board, but I would like to hear first hand about the suit thanks V.

Morrisburg- Beach closed, high bacteria count

I always use ear drops after diving in the St. Lawrence. I often think that there are worse things in the river than a high bacteria count, (chemiclas and elevated phospate levels from farm run off)..but once that second stage is in my mouth, I try not to remove it until I am well out of the...

"Frameless" Masks --- Field of Vision???

One quick exhale through the nose and the Scubapro frameless mask clears completetly. I find there is no pressure on the nose with this mask as well . V.

    amino acid supplement

If you are taking the amino acid supplements in the from of "whey protein" the biggest problem I have seen is the extra mucous congestion caused by the dairy whey, often congesting my sinuses pre/ post dive. I have since stopped using whey protein on most dive days. The difference in sinus...

    E8-130 Weigting

Removing 5 pounds from your belt with an E8 130 is a good place to start. Keep in mind you will have about 10 pounds of gas at the begining of the dive if the tank is full. Vertigo

    The Best Dounut?

Oxycheq now makes a "signature series" line of wings that has the inner bladder, as well as a tough exterior shell ( like the Eclipse ) It is one well made wing.

    The Best Dounut?

There is absolutely no way you can keep proper trim with a Krispy Kreme. Not to mention the way the long hose wraps around the thing. At 218 feet the Gluten hits a partial pressure of 1.6 and you have to switch to your lean Dutchie. I appologize in advance. As to the real question...

    PST E-8 Tanks

I wasn't sure what to expect when I dove them as singles. With a SS backplate and an STA, they trim out very well. I have not experienced any "head down" issues, although they seem to get a tiny bit butt light in or around 900 psi. You have a lot of gas ( 10 pounds) when pumped up and it...

    Dive Rite BP/Wing Combo

Marcos As Wendy and Gator said, a good singles wing is in order. Some people have had no problem diving the Dive Rite Rec wing with single tanks, but I have had nothing but trouble with that wing on a single tank....air trapping during ascent..( which is the last thing you need trying to...

    EMT Shears and 7mm gloves

Thanks, I imagined they would be a little awkward but easy enough to use. However, at the end of a cold water dive I might be a little slow with the fingers. That silicone is a great tip Scubaroo. I've seen the shears around here at medical supply places and the price is right.

    EMT Shears and 7mm gloves

Are EMT shears easy enough to use while wearing 7mm gloves ? I was also looking at several cutters including the Dive Rite large line cutter. thanks
