Hammerhead dragged onto beach and gives birth

I find the things we'll rage against so funny and frustrating at the same time. I'm a HUGE shark nut. I've loved 'em from as early as I can remember and passionately! I had the movie SHARKWATER played at my local community college for the student body, when I lived in rural southwest Georgia...

Hammerhead dragged onto beach and gives birth

The shark was dragged in so that the hook could be removed, which you see if you actually watch the video to the end. Some of these posts here seem to be uninformed knee jerk reactions. The hook was removed, the shark was released and is not in therapy.

St. Andrews Jetties Condition This Week?

Got a buddy of mine that wants to go diving at the jetties and asked me if it had cleared up any from the latest rains. I've not been able to get out there to see so can you fill me in on what it may look like for this week and weekend? Is it any better? I live across from Pineapple Willy's...

    FL Dive Flag Violations Question

And lying to an officer with authority can lead to MUCH larger problems. I've never come remotely close to being in that type of situation, but I've shook my head at fools who have and had to learn the hard way.

    Panama city dive shops

LOL...I LOVE it here. I've been spoiled with a lot of diving in the top places, Cozumel, GK, Bahamas, Keys, etc. and it for sure ain't those, but it is better than land locked any day and there's much worse for sure that ain't land locked. :)

    Panama city dive shops

All of the shops here in PC are great and recommendable. They've got their strengths and weaknesses (as anyone, anywhere does) or maybe I could better say it that they all have their own personalities. I gotta be honest about the above negative post - looks like someone who's just come by the...

    Dive Locker in PCB

A couple questions.... Did you call ahead and reserve letting them know you would need gear or just walk in? Do you think maybe the deckhand was hurrying folks into the water because it would help with the sea-sickness/nausea issue? The quicker you get in, the sooner you'll feel better...

One dead, one injured off of Panama City, Florida

So this was a commercial fishing boat or a dive boat/fishing boat or a dive boat? I'm assuming the first one but I'd like to be certain.

Oxygen tank explosion injures one - Italy

I'm always nervous about tanks, even though I know the odds are greatly in my favor. I used to work for Pepsi and we had C02 cylinders for fountain machines that would pop their seal. Sounded like a cannon going off. They wouldn't go anywhere as they were usually secured but the whole tank...

Some Short PCB/St. Andrew's Jetties Vids - help identifying a couple things.

This made me laugh. Idive2, you're gonna also want to watch out for fishermen and monofilament, usually toward the mid to end of the jetty if you enter by the pool and down and around the point to exit back up the beach side. You can't dive as deep and have enough air to make it all the way...

Some Short PCB/St. Andrew's Jetties Vids - help identifying a couple things.

:D It's all good. I've not been bent out of shape in the least. Perhaps my response seemed terse but it wasn't at all intended to be (tried to start off the reply in a way that would be jovial and disarming). I did intend on explaining the circumstances though. And I did conclude (not...

Some Short PCB/St. Andrew's Jetties Vids - help identifying a couple things.

***NO CORAL WAS HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THESE VIDEOS*** LOL! You're not being an a%$ (at least I'll say I understand your intentions and cut you some slack about it) you just don't know this "dive" location and you're drawing some incorrect conclusions. Context makes all the difference in...

    Panama city dive shops

Hey! This thread may be helpful because we discussed a lot of the dive ops. in it. Feel free to hit me up when you're down and want to go diving. The Jetties are a MUST! http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/south-eastern-united-states/425780-pcb-dive-boat-recommendations.html

Some Short PCB/St. Andrew's Jetties Vids - help identifying a couple things.

So my batteries ran out on me and I missed some baby barracuda and cool hermit crab shots. Here are two quick vids and if you can help me identify the things in them that I ask for in the speech bubbles of the videos that would be way awesome. Thanks in advance...

    diving in florida

Silent World, without a doubt! Dove for a week with them in '08 and couldn't say enough about them and their DM's/deckhands/guides (I didn't use a guide but saw them in action). Not only that but my dives since then have been better thanks to their folks advice on air consumption, weighting...

My First Shark Encounter - Help Me Identify the Species. St. Maarten, Caribbean

Definitely a Caribbean Reef. As an aside, a great site for photos of these and other beauties is oceanicdreams.com which is the site of Wolfgang Leander (if you are not aware of him, you SHOULD be). :)

Divers Encounter Great White Shark off Florida Coast

I'm both thankful, and sorry, to say this video isn't mine. I'm over on the gulf side of things in PC. Never been diving in the Atlantic. It is one that I remember watching from last year. BTW, in the comments section he says he is 170' deep. That is a typo, he is at 70'. Don't know why he...
