    Your gear - my gear

Gorgeous gear pics man, lovely. Like something out of those old movies (20 000 Leagues Under The Sea) when I was a kid...

    Your gear - my gear

Will do, thank you for the kind words. I hope to do some dives out there and use some other Force Fins. The weather is pretty bad out this way right now, which is impacting everyone's dives. It's the brief rainy season - otherwise it's 10.5 months of sun. I'll follow up once I get back.

Is this good gear/a good deal?

The Aeris LX was given BCD of the year 2007 by Scuba Lab - the XT got very high marks and two awards by them. I just bought the XT, opted for it over the LX. Cressi is extremely popular here in the UAE and in South Africa... I have the Archimede II 3 gauge console. Dunno what the hassle is in...

    Hi - From Dubai

You guys must be really excited! FYI, I bought almost all my gear in NY. It's significantly cheaper there than here, even if you end up paying shipping charges. I bought my Bare 3/2 full wetsuit for 330AED, best price for it here was 850AED, and my price included both gloves and boots. I bought...

Force Fins, gear choices, closed minds and open minds

No, the guys in Karama - in Sana Centre. Great guys, very helpful and willing to bargain on their prices. But to laugh at me over my fins... just seemed a tad unprofessional. I'm looking forward to a dive or two with them if the weather is good next weekend, so no harm. Who are the guys on Al...

Force Fins, gear choices, closed minds and open minds

Hi FYI - This has been posted on ST forum, same name and content, however I am interested in your views as members of the Force Fin sub forum. As far as fins go, they seem to work - I mean, we're all using a pair. For me, Force Fins work better, much better, so I switched. But dealing with...

Looking for a good, cheap 3/2mm wetsuit

Hi Tim You can try the LeisurePro warm water wet suit package. It's a Bare Attack 3/2 full suit, and includes a pair of booties and pair of gloves. I bought it, and I recommend it. Price is $89.95 - which is about 45GBP. The link is: Mens Warm Water suit Package from LeisurePro.com

    Help needed: diving in DUBAI

Thanks for the report, it's great! I'll definitely check out the people in Abu Dhabi soon. I know it's been ages since this was posted, but to add an update, Sandy Beach has a new owner and things are going very well there now. I did my OW there, and the new DM is Jeff, a very experienced diver...

    Hi - From Dubai

Wow, great story! I had exactly the same experience while on holiday in Fujeirah! I saw the DSD offered at Sandy Beach, did that out of curiosity and completed the OW course a couple of days later! One month later I have all my gear! Safe diving, maybe we'll even run into each other sometime

Any other divers in the U.A.E.?

Hi there I prefer a suit, though if it's summer I figure I could go without. Ididn't get cold on my dives in Fujeirah, so I can see your point. My gear I get in NY, and it's so much less expensive than it is here, and I occasionally get a discount on top of already lower prices. Sad to hear...

    Your gear - my gear

Hey Meesier What a coincidence... I have a couple of Pinnacle wetsuits on my wish list, so it's great to get independent corroboration. I need a 5mm and 7mm for when I go back home, the water can be cold out there. I paid for the Atmos XT what I would have paid for the LX, but cosmetics aside...

Any other divers in the U.A.E.?

Hey Adel, good to meet you. Thanks for the invitation. Receiving my BCD on Saturday, so that's me ready with all my gear. Only issue is I think I may have to return my wet suit (get 1 size larger). If you have a wet suit I can rent then I'm happy to stop by next weekend. I have been often to...

Any other divers in the U.A.E.?

I got my PADI OW cert at Sandy Beach in December. I'd love to visit Oman, I hear it's beautiful there. Cold or not, I'm still keen to experience what it's like when the water temp is a little lower here. I didn't buy all this gear for nothing :)

    Your gear - my gear

I'd love to see more people weigh in on this one. I wonder if divers that choose Force Fins also choose other gear that demonstrates a particular type of discernment and selection process. All the gear divers wear meet certan minimum requirements, and suits the individual, which is all that may...

    Force Fins - my experience

Cool video! Thanks for the heads up, and all the advice previously. My wife has met Ben a couple of times while picking up gear for me at your store, she tells me he has been a really helpful guy. Force fins are different - but in a preferential way. The design is not just a marketing gimmick...

Any other divers in the U.A.E.?

Hi I'm somewhat new to diving, I am in Dubai. Are you guys still actively diving? Still around? I'm almost done gathering all my kit, by the end of this month I'll have everything except a steel tank. Then I'd be keen to get out and meet some dive buddies.

    Diving in Abu Dhabi?

I'm in Dubai, got my PADI OW cert in December. I did feel as if I went through the course a little fast, as you say. I have opted to switch to BSAC to do their Sports Diver rather than PADI Advanced Open Water, start around middle Feb with that. There are also a host of other advantages in...

    Force Fins - my experience

Hi Gale, Blair Those are the pics I saw, uncleavi posted the link. I felt like running out of the office and going diving when I saw them ;) I'll go and find the pics Bob took now before it gets busy around here

    Force Fins - my experience

Hi Chris Ok, I'm on the Persian Gulf, though I do my diving on the Indian Ocean side, near Oman. I don't recall a slippery feeling from the sock, wet or dry. I imagine there must be circumstances where they may be, but it hasn't felt that way for me yet.
