ATX50 purge gets stuck quite often in silty environment.

The reason I have never experienced a purge button sticking while underwater in silty conditions, may be that I never depress the purge. Instead, I exhale through the mouthpiece to achieve the same result. I don't actually do this for the reason of preventing silt from getting between the button...

Moderation: Too much or too little?

Quero, I continued to ask until I got an answer. No it's not important to me at all, I was just using a recent example of something I considered inconsistent in a discussion on moderation. I'v only used these posts as an example, because they were mine, & therefore easy to find. I couldn't...

Moderation: Too much or too little?

John, have a look at post 291 in this thread for the specifics, & how they I think they relate to inconsistency of moderation. Quero has answered my question though, my posts, used mild language to break the rules & were therefore not removed. That still seems quite inconsistent to me. Ps...

what would you do? Mk25 or HOG

This is not the case for Apeks. They are made from scratch, at the Apeks factory, Neptune Way, Blackburn, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom, BB1 2BT.

Moderation: Too much or too little?

Human error, fair enough. But I'm still wondering why some posts were removed from the originating thread for being off topic because they were "discussing the prerogative of the OP to offer an opinion", & some weren't.

Moderation: Too much or too little?

I don't actually care about the moderation, just the inconsistency. I have no problems with moderators/owners expressing their views either. The inconsistency of what some say, & what some do however, is legion.

Moderation: Too much or too little?

How long does it take to change the permission settings?

Moderation: Too much or too little?

Maybe I should've stuck with something as generalised as the inconsistent moderation/moderators.

Moderation: Too much or too little?

It sometimes seems to be OK for you to call people some pretty unfriendly things, based on some pretty subjective criteria.

OMG.... do you mean..... it's in the back room.

Moderation: Too much or too little?

And then you get this sort of nonsense from a moderator. When every link supplied leads you here:- Invalid Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the ScubaBoard Support Team. And it is not in the feedback forum as of this time. And rather than post incorrect directions...

ATX50 purge gets stuck quite often in silty environment.

Sorry elan, from your OP I thought this was happening at the surface, & of course I should have refferd to the diaphragm, not the purge button. As there is a spring that pushes the purge button out, I'm wondering how it gets depressed, thus allowing the silt/sand to enter between the button &...

Moderation: Too much or too little?

Inconsistency. I made the following 2 quotes in one of Matts threads, the only 1 I'v read in fact. They're obviously about his right to post his opinions, about his experiences. Some time later the thread was moderated for the reasons given in the quote bellow. My 1st 2 posts are still...

Uemis Zurich vs. Hollis DG05 vs. Shearwater Predator

The DG05 is a rebadged VRX from VR Technology. The only thing thats really new about it, is the OLED screen.

what would you do? Mk25 or HOG

Have you never seen an Apeks DS4/FSR/Tec3, or a Hog D2 1st stage mounted on doubles. They most certainly do not protrude or interfere with access to the tank valve knobs. The DIN connector is located at the end of the body on each one. HOG service kits are readily available. Anyone who can...

ATX50 purge gets stuck quite often in silty environment.

If the venturi is set to +, & air flow initiated, the low pressure system on the inside of the purge button will pull it in, causing a free flow. Just like a stuck purge button. I'v dived in a lot of silty/sandy conditions & I'v never had a stuck purge button on an Apeks, TX/ATX/XTX 2nd stage...

The right way to get certified

This must be one of those generalizations. When I bought a dry suit I just went diving, no previous dry suit experience, no instructors, no problems. ---------- Post added April 3rd, 2012 at 06:10 PM ---------- So, if they don't let you on the boat unless you've dived there recently, how do...

what length hose are you using on a stage or pony (slung configuration)

No, I use a 40" hose because I use non swivel regs (no turret) on my deco/stages. The reg is mounted horizontally rather than vertically. The hose runs straight up & down the length of the cylinder. Sorry, don't own a camera. This page has some fotos & other info though. TechnicalDiver.Com -...
