Ok, last question to you guys. Are most of the wrecks worth two dives or should I keep it to one dive a wreck. Most of the people I'll have with me are first timers for this region.
The Lancaster Scuba center still has a few spots open on our August 30th trip. We are hoping to dive the 'Tolten'. The charter boat we are using is the Venture III. If you have ever been on this boat , you know what a great boat and great people the Heplers are. Cost of the trip is 110.oo...
I have to agree with "Anytime" that the 'City of Richmond' is a great wreck and well worth the boat ride !! It is usually loaded with all kinds of lil fun little sea creatures and fish. :D
I am setting up a trip for my LDS for next year. I am not familiar enough with that area. What is everybodys recommendations for dive shops to use, or for dive boats to use? Thanks in advance for all info.
I was digging for stuff on the wreck of the 'City of Richmond'. I wasn't finding much til I saw a flash. When the dust settled I picked up the shiny thing and on closer inspection................ A gold tooth, with the roots still sticking out. It's very strange because nobody died on the ship...
Something else to think about as well. Amtrak WILL NOT let any tanks reagardless of size or type on their trains pressureized. This is for scuba tanks anyway. I and a buddy looked into something similar a few years ago. If you want to take your own tanks it will be a huge hassle to do so. So...
Your welcome MindMagic, When I was down ther in mid-june the water temp was 74ish and vis was around 50 feet. If you go with express water sports do me a favor. Tell joe the divemaster on the boat that lancaster scuba and Johnny Walker say thanks again ! Have a great trip.
If all the tanks are yours then there is no problem. My point was if you show up to get tanks for say four diffrent divers. Now we have a problem.
Ok, so maybe Ebay isn't all evil. But I can't remember the last itme someone asked for advice on used gear before they bought it. My experience is...
I would have to recommend you get a computer. A copmuter as long as the batteries are fresh will also help you with you dive the whole time. A computer can readjust your dive time to fit your dive. My two cents would stear you towards a Suunto Gekko. I have one and it is an excellent computer...
Here is one that always makes me roll my eyes. I work in a LDS part-time and have come to regard EBAY as slightly pure evil. Once or twice a week it never fails. Somebody comes in with a "super-deal" they just got from EBAY. I'ts almost always ancient and usually dry-rotted as well. Then here is...
The 'Hebe' is an awesome wreck, I whole heartedly agree !!! I just dove it two weeks ago. It is absolutly polluted with huge grouper and scamp. We also has a small pod of dolphin swim with us, and a decent school of Mahi dart by. Plus you can find all sorts of goodies on the wreck as well. :D
I strongly recommend express water sports. They are a lil south of myrtle beach in Murrells inlet. I have used this shop several times and have absolutly no regrets when dealing with them. Phone number to contact them is 1-866-566-9338, they also have a very helpful website. Hope this helps,and...
Just dove the wreck of the 'Great Isaac' on sunday June 28th. Had a great time with atlantic divers and the crew of the Dina Dee. Thanks to all involved. It was a lil snotty with seas 2-4 feet higher than forecasted by N.O.A.A. Vis was around 10 feet on the surface, but once passed the...
