Question What's your safety stop depth?

Seems like using a micrometer to measure a yard. The navy dive tables were a wag by a physicist. Not an actual measurement of anything physiological. The navy does stops at 20 and 10 ft so padi said 15. I do my stops at 20ft for 5min mostly if my watch needs me at 10ft then i do 10ft to make...

    Buoyancy weight

many people just add weight, if they are light at the end of a dive, I think a better solution if you are only 1-2# off is to practice breathing out fully, and to make certain there is zero air in your bc at the end of the dive. the only air you need in your bc is to compensate for the weight...

    sizing an shorty for layering

suit size is a little non standard, go to the shop and try it on, otherwise the outside suit will be loose and thus useless. i like a vest with a zipper over my 3mm always fits even when I have had too many gallettas.

Need Recommendation for PADI Divemaster course in Bonaire

As a DM you only need to carry insurance if you are working as a DM for a shop. You are always free to show your Open water card any time you want to. Not so much as an instructor, once you are an instructor if one of your students dies, and his family wants to sue someone you may be...

Well okay, this was kinda scary..

IMHO he was there to film the boat going over. he is holding a line tied to the bottom. he anticipated the currents caused by the ship passing over and only gets rolled a little. I have been diving in a channel and we heard a ship passing by, it was like the drum line to someplace state...

    Looking for reel suggestions

I am thinking that this spool is because they expect to stir up the mud looking for the prize. and that maybe there will be current and that a simple spool without a lock and some thought about how to use it is not enough. keep in mind that I do not value a tooth, no matter how old over safety...

    DSMB requirement?

I think this may be answered, and I just want to say that for the price of a safety sausage, or SB why would you not carry one on every single dive everywhere? unless of course you are in a pool.

    May 2016 Roll Call... ¡Vámonos!

rules for First time in Coz: Stay out of the bars, the Tequila is really good and may be habit forming. stay out of the restaurants, guacamole is an aphrodisiac and may lead to child birth. never go to the beaches, the sun may make your skin turn brown, or add vitamin D that leads to euphoria...

Is a Back Plate w/ Wing really cheaper?

My wife had a traditional vest, she liked it, after 400+ dives it is less than sea worthy, my bladder on my BP/W also wore out in that time and for 200 I replaced it. had I not found a deal at www.scubatoys.com for new vest BC at $175, then the BP/W would have been the price winner.

    the truth about DM's

I think if I taught every week at a shop and then spent every weekend on a boat in fla. I might have to declare bankruptcy in about 6 months. With no house or car payment. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk

    the truth about DM's

Return on investment. Well for me I am very happy with my ROI. I pay and pay and pay. And I get the experience of diving and contributing to the new divers experience of the ocean. Money not so much but if I wanted money maybe I could have taught golf how hard could that be.... hit the ball...

    Hood with vest

Buy one and wear it around the house for a few hours, that should resolve the feeling of being strangled, but 5mm is going to be tight from any Mfg.
