Just thinking out loud here for a moment ... Is it possible that the 1000 ft was referring to distance rather than depth?? (Remember, "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" didn't refer to depth.) I know that isn't a super far distance, but navigating in the dark in open water can be tricky...

I was there last sunday. Vis was really bad at 20' and up. Things got a lot better below 40'. As for parking - No real changes. I haven't heard of anyone getting hassled lately. Have a good dive.
