My husband and I will be in southern France for their summer this year and would like to know where to dive. We'll be considering diving around Marseille, so suggestions for this area would be much appreciated!

    Contact lenses and diving

You may notice that you'll be able to see quite well underwater without your lenses. My own script is 3.75 and 5.75, and when I dive without lenses I can actually see quite well. This could be due to the fact that everything is magnified a bit underwater.

    Another "female peeing" issue

Actually, peeing is far better than pooing, and I have felt the urge to do so whilst diving (have definitely not given into it, tho!).

    Another "female peeing" issue

I LOVE peeing in my wetsuit! It's the best, especially when I'm a bit chilly. Unless, however, I'm wearing my hooded vest with my wetsuit...it tends to creep up, up and over!

    Australia

Tassie has some great kelp forests! Bit cold, but very much worth the chill. Seals, sharks, kelp, clear water and lots of fun.

Newbies to diving visiting GBR - need advice

I must recommend the Cairns Dive Centre's liveaboard. I did my Open Water with them a while back and my friends and I really enjoyed ourselves. Spent three days out on the reef with some great dives. Good food too!

What are the mask preferences out there?

I just bought a classic mask. You know the old style where it's just one big round circle instead of two eye pieces joined together...? Fantastic, cheap and takes funky photos.

Worth replacing fin straps on fins?

I have a pair of Scubapro Kinetix fins and just noticed that the straps are perished. The replacement straps are quite expensive ($80). Does anyone know whether there is such a thing as retro-fitted straps suitable for Kinetix? Or even cheaper replacement straps?

First Trip to Australia??? Any Suggestions….

Mate, stay AWAY from the hostels in Cairns. They're party places, which is fine if you don't have to get up at 5-6 am for a dive. I'm yet to have a positive experience there! My advice (which my group and I followed after a baaad night at a hostel) is to go to wotif.com.au and find some cheap...

First Trip to Australia??? Any Suggestions….

Re Cairns: there are sooooo many dive operators that the prices are generally about the same. I dived a few times with Cairns Dive Centre, and they were always pretty good to deal with. Funny fellas! Water temp in Cairns is literally bath-water temp throughout summer - no wetsuit needed...
