    ZX50D Issues

Sorry for the late reply, thanks for the advice guys. 1.) Yes the reg is still under warranty, but traditionally speaking, warranty work is a PITA. Though I have never dealt with Zeagle. 2.) Yes, I was worried Scubatoys didn't do proper maintenance work, but didn't want to outright say it...

    ZX50D Issues

Hi guys, I am hoping you can help me make a decision. I have been having issues with my regulator and am trying to decide what I should do next. History: I have a zeagle ZX50D that I've been diving with for ~ 3 years now. I've had no issues with it (if memory serves me correctly) until...

How far do you go for a shot?

Nice shot Mariozi. I agree to look, but don't touch. I do try to get as close as possible though. Just this passed weekend I got within inches/feet of some Sandtiger's, eels, lionfish.

C&C North Carolina - first salt water attempt with manual

Nice shot of the SandTiger and no kiddin'. I did the same thing in January with the biggest stingray I had seen in Belize. Took the camera from my eyeball and realized how close I was and my eyes went :sprint: . I hope no one take's offense to this, but I even thought of Steve Irwin thinking...

Ikelite ball arms VS. ULCS arms?

I used the ulcs strobe arms for the first time in January and I can tell you adjusting them underwater was a breeze, set it and forget it. So I'll second the above post.

    First Outing with G9

Thanks guys, I kept it simple this trip. I used the DS160 TTL and used autofocus (They're was plenty of light). I was happy with the results so I kept it that way the entire trip shooting in shutter priority.

    First Outing with G9

First - This is the only turtle I seen on my trip. Second turtle ever :D This photo was taken in Grand Cayman - The little fellow let me get quite close and swim along with him for a few secs. Sorry the photo is not upright... I'm still converting photo's from raw to jpeg and my computer is...

    First Outing with G9

Another tidbit I found helpful was when people posted what hardware went with them underwater. With this being said, I took the plunge with the G9 in an Ikelite housing. I used the short port to utilize the wide angle lens (Inon's, not Ike's). I also had one DS160 attached to two 5" ultralite...

    First Outing with G9

Hello folks, I don't post here very frequently, but I thought I would share some photo's taken earlier this week on my first outing with a G9. I used this site and a couple others to help finally make my decision on a set-up. First off I want to thank Alcina for her links, I especially found...

    Diving after a stroke

DrBill, are you sure you had a TIA? Twenty years ago... How old were you and what symptoms did you experience? Iceguy - do you have an update on what your doctor told you? A stroke is a very vague term. There are three main variations of what people call a "Stroke." There are...

Does this make sense to any of you?

Funny thing is, most the surgeons I've met say surgery is easy, you just need to know your anatomy ;) Thalassamania - Thanks for the site, very interesting reports dating back to the 50's! Still did not see ANYTHING related to growth plates. On another note, I'm not quite sure how that came...

Does this make sense to any of you?

I mainly lurk... but I can't help chime in here. Please show me a report or any studies showing damage to a child's growth plates from diving to a depth of 100'. Your child will do more damage to their growth plates strength training for football... Each child is an individual - barring...
