I think it is worth noting that the writier of the story did not say the diver went three miles in 45 minutes. He quoted Spenser Slate saying it. If it's wrong, it's Slate's wrongness, not the reporter's. People are always so quick to kill the messenger.

I think it may be worth mentioning that with all the activity going on during the "creature feature," the bottom can get pretty stirred up, which if it does, I'm sure would make it difficult for snorkelers at the surface to see what's going on 30 ft. below. Worth considering.

Another advantage of Conch ... if you're diving more than one day they have rinse tanks right at the dock and drying racks you can hang your stuff on. The racks have wheels and they roll them into the shop at the end of the day so you don't have to put wet gear in your car and/or motel room.
