One of the world’s most respected female divers is teaming up with Analox Sensor Technology (AST) at DEMA 2013 to promote the importance of analyzing Technical Diving Gas.
Jill Heinerth, the pioneering underwater explorer and filmmaker, and inaugural member of the Women Divers’ Hall of Fame, will present ‘Technical Diving Gas: What you don’t know will hurt you’ at DEMA Show 2013 in Orlando, Florida.
Jill’s presentation will focus on the importance of analyzing gas, the dangers of breathing contaminated gas, and how and why divers should ensure that their gas is always safe to use.  Jill said: “All divers should understand why it is vitally important to analyze their diving gas.  I have known too many people who have died as a result of either failing to analyze contents or breathing contaminated gas - accidents which could have been prevented by the simple action of analyzing gas before diving.
“I was really pleased to be invited by Analox Sensor Technology to speak at DEMA 2013.  I have used AST’s products for many years, and find them well thought out, easy to use, suitably robust and importantly very reliable.  Put simply, we need to make sure all divers are aware that analyzing your gas is mandatory.”
Patti Clarkson, Vice President Sales for Analox US, added: “We’re thrilled to have Jill Heinerth presenting, she is one of the most inspiring divers of our generation.  As well as her wealth of experience, she has a passion about ensuring divers at every level take the appropriate precautions to guarantee their own safety.  We’re sure the DEMA audience will be very keen to hear Jill speak.”
Jill Heinerth has been diving professionally for over 23 years.  She has explored some of the world’s most remote underwater locations, and holds the record for the longest deep cave penetration by a woman.  Her accolades include induction into the Explorers’ Club and the inaugural class of the Women Divers’ Hall of Fame.  In November 2013, she will be awarded the first Sir Christopher Ondaatje Medal for Exploration by the Royal Canadian Geographical Society.  She is a diver, explorer, filmmaker, speaker, painter and writer.  In her latest project ,‘We are Water’, she is helping to lead an educational campaign for everyday behavioural changes which will enable greater access to and preservation of the world’s endangered fresh water resources.
Analox Sensor Technology is the world-recognized manufacturer of gas analysis equipment for sport diving.  AST will be located at Booth 1677 at DEMA 2013, where the company will have a range of gas analysis equipment designed for sport divers, including the EII CO carbon monoxide analyzer, and the O2EII nitrox analyzer.  AST will also have the new portable ACG which monitors compressed breathing air for contaminants.  Anyone wishing to contact AST prior to the exhibition to arrange a meeting should email patti.clarkson@analox.biz
DEMA 2013 takes place at the Orange County Convention Centre in Orlando, Florida, from Wednesday 6th to Saturday 9th November.  Jill Heinerth’s presentation, sponsored by AST, is open to all DEMA attendees, and will be in the Technical Diving Resource Centre in area 1769 on Friday 8th November at 12 noon.
Analox Sensor Technology Ltd is based in Stokesley, North Yorkshire, UK, and specializes in the design and manufacture of gas analyzers for military and commercial use.  Its US operation is based in Huntington Beach, California.
