Oh, I get it. Rob was the TD, but he resigned and sent the stuff back. At that point I said Larry would become TD and I was poo-poohed. Then Larry became TD, and he was fired. I don't know where the card printer is, I'm pretty sure Rob, who is being sued for not having it?, doesn't have it. I hear it's in a storage unit in High Springs, or something. Whatever, I'm going diving.

Please, please don't blame SB for the NACD's shenanigans. You can't make this stuff up and they're the ones bringing this stuff out into the open. If they fail, they have no one to blame but themselves. Although, I doubt they'll accept any blame. They are too busy trying to keep the bylaws by breaking them to admit any malfeasance.

Should I ever get cave training, these threads are excellent advertising for the NSS-CDS and Cave Diving Alliance.

I believe I have said this before, it's about the instructor not the agency. I know several fine instructors with IANTD, TDI, NAUI, NSSCDS, GUE and PSAI. I have also seen bad instructors with all of them.

Check references. Find out how much they teach. Find out what kind of diving they do for fun. Be sure to interview them.

And of course it's the instructor not the agency, we all know this. Some instructors are able to issue cards for more than one organization.

I think its hilarious that there's all this griping about by-laws and other such things when the NACD hasn't been an active FL nonprofit corporation since the 1980s and there's no record of them being an active non-profit corporation with the IRS either. They don't actually exist legally. Not sure how they can even sue someone as a non-entity but hey they are all about drama for sure.

A quick search of Florida Corporations shows that "NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR CAVE DIVING, INC." is an active Florida Not For Profit Corporation with an amended annual report filed as recently as 2/15/2016. Take the FEI/EIN Number of 59-2475280 and you will find them listed on the IRS website as an organization eligible to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions.
