Booking our first week in Bonaire after 7 trips to Curacao - should I book a studio or 1 bedroom? It's for 2 people. Thanks!

I haven't stayed at Buddy's but we greatly prefer a 1 bedroom, especially because we usually stay for 2 weeks and cooking, eating, living, sleeping in a tiny space gets old pretty quick. We stayed in a studio at Sand Dollar once and didn't care for it at all. But before you make the reservation be sure to check on the air conditioning situation. We once stayed in an apartment in Bonaire where only the bedroom had AC and the rest of the place was boiling hot!

The last 2 or 3 trips we stayed at Den Laman and dived with Bari Dive and it was great!

It depends on how much time you will spend in room and what you will do there. The 1 bedrooms have a full kitchen - 4 burner cooktop (no oven), micro, good size fridge, dining table for 4 and living room area (sofa, couple chairs, coffee table). The studios are smaller more like a hotel room with cooktop or a small separate area with small fridge, 2 burner cooktop, small table and 2 chairs crammed in.

And yes, most of the units have AC only in the bedroom. That is a very common phenomena on many islands.

We opt for the 1 bedroom, usually stay a couple weeks, enjoy cooking and having friends over for dinner or drinks. I like not having to see the bed, shoes, clothes, etc when eating and entertaining. And nights when I have trouble sleeping I can head into the living room to read or watch TV.
