Hello All,

We're planning a long trip for 2017 and would like to spends 2-3 weeks in the Philippines to enjoy the culture and to dive.

Are there any diving areas that you would recommend for people who don't want to stay in a resort? I'm thinking like West End in Roatan - accommodations are basic, you eat out with to locals, and there is as much or as little diving as you want :D

One requirement - we need air conditioning :p

Also we are not limited to the Phillipines - we have only dove in California, Caribbean, & Hawaii so anywhere in Asia & South Pacific we are open to :)

The Philippines is one of the less commercialized tourist destinations in SE Asia. There's loads of non-resort options in many (most) destinations here. However, it's not typical for the smaller (non-resort) places to have websites/internet presence. Once you've decided your diving location/s here, then ask for tips/recommendations in this forum.
