Personally, I've always had good luck with the Worthington LP 85's(if you can find them anymore). Recently, I gave a set of Faber LP 95's a shot and had to add a couple pounds of weight in comparison to the 85's. Aside from that, they worked just fine. Of course, your desire is to stay away from an 8" bottle. Perhaps an HP 100?
