Diver's death at Orkney ferry terminal under investigation
Officers were alerted to the death of the male diver at Houton ferry terminal on the mainland at around 9.45am on Monday.

It is understood the man was preparing to enter the water when he died.

Police said enquiries were ongoing and efforts were being made to contact the man's next of kin.

The cause of death is not yet known.

The area is popular with recreational divers exploring the historic wreck sites at Scapa Flow and is also used for diver training.

By Mainland they mean the main island of Orkney as this is what it is called. This is very close to the German WWI Scapa Flow wrecks. Soulds like a medical problem if correctly reported.

Is there any known wrecks near Houton Ferry Terminal? All the major WWI wrecks are quite a distance from land.
