The biggest problem in West End right now is that nobody is there.
They've got the 'street' torn up installing sewer pipes, huge holes that move on what seems a daily basis. Lots of restaurants and businesses seem to be gone permanently or maybe just temporarily, hard to tell, but West End was nothing like it was 2 years ago when I was there in 2009. Did seem to me that there is a very visible police presence there now, maybe it was always like that, but this time the police really stood out as being there.
