Brilliant minds...

We were also there in '10 - right after Cyclone Tomas. Spent the 1st week at Wananavu Resort on the northern end of the main island of Viti Levu. 2nd week we flew over to the island of Taveuni and stayed at Garden Island Resort. It was AMAZING! It sits right on the Somosomo Strait and overlooks the Rainbow Reef. That was the most gorgeous coral I've ever seen. Multitudes of colors. Afraid I'm addicted!

So our return trip is a no-brainer...we're going back to Garden Island Resort, for 10 days this time. Dates are October 16-28, 2016 if anyone is interested in joining us

If you want to stay in the Caribbean during November, I'd recommend Grand Cayman. I would also recommend looking at Divetech. They instruct everything from resort dives to OW to Instructor to rebreathers and tech diving. The water is warm, the visibility is great and you can easily get the Deep Diving certification. (In November, water temp is in the mid 80s. My wife uses a 3mm fullsuit. I'm very comfortable in just a skin at depth.) When you dive with Divetech, you get unlimited shore diving at their base location, Lighthouse Point. It's an excellent reef. As for the boat diving, if the weather is rough on one side of the island, they simply go to the lee side where it's usually very good. In 2013, my wife and I happened to pick the year Hurricane Sandy ripped through nearby Jamaica and Cuba on it's way to the Jersey and Long Island shore. We had high winds and seas on the north and west sides. They just moved the boat to the unaffected south bay and we got to see some excellent dive sites and geography we'd never seen before. If you go between the 10th and the 20th of November, you'll also get to enjoy the annual Pirates' Week festivities.

I can't say that I like your reply, but I really appreciate your feedback. I'm really struggling to find a warm place to go diving in November!

Mexico; Coz or probably better, Baja / GoC. November is prime time there.
