I thought this article was very interesting about the current debates over cage diving in Australia and evidence for/against sharks associating feeding with people - Ever thought about cage-diving with great white sharks? Some people want you to think twice

Excerpt:

As a great white shark glides under water at Neptune Islands in South Australia, it's unaware of the controversy that lies on the surface. This year SA was crowned the undisputed white shark capital of the world after the closure of the cage-diving industry in Mexico and dwindling white shark numbers in South Africa due to orca whale predation. Port Lincoln, the only place in Australia where you can cage-dive next to a white shark, has been named a global leader when it comes to the sustainability of cage-diving. But people living on the Eyre Peninsula's rugged coastline, including tour operators, abalone divers and surfers, are divided over what cage-diving means to their community.
