If you want to see the Dugong, better location is Three Corners Equinox with Equinox Divers.
The Dugong is usually on the grass meadows in front of TCE and not in Marsa Shagra or Iberotel. However, it has been spotted today at Abu Dabbad 5.
Macro is possible wherever there is a reef.

Thanks for all the suggestions to my previous post about hotels in the Marsa Alam area. We (husband, daughter (12 y) and SIL) choose Three Corners Equinox, based on reviews about the best house reef, decent food and proximity to Elphinstone (with direct boat from the pier next to the resort)...
