Hi, did anybody dive Los Roques in Venezuela?
If you have any video clips to post would be even better.
Please share your experience.
Thanks
Paul

I did some snorkling there a couple of years ago. Very primative but looked like it would be great diving!

paulpost,
i spent a week aboard the m/v antares in los roques.
the area is not developed.
small village of fishermen and their families.
dirt air strip.

the diving was breathtaking.
i have still shots and video, but nothing digital.

you should get up with roatanman.
he is very knowledgable of the dive sites.

i'd like to go back.
if you figure a way of how to get there let me know and i'll go with you.
regards,

To get there is not hard, a flight to Caracas and a 29 min flight to Los Roques. The drown back is that there are just 2 flights to the island , one at 9am and one at 5pm. In other words you loose a full day to get there.
The good news is that the 2 dive operators on the island offer packages of 7 days all included, 5 days of 2 tanks dives and the round trip flight. The luggage limit is around 22lbs .
I don't know how much are the charges for extra luggage.
www.ecobuzos.com and www.explore-yachts.com are the websites where you can get more info's.
My concern is that they want the money in advance and no credit cards accepted.
What do you guys think about this?
Paul
