Metal backplate on Transpac XT?

Could I use a metal backplate, in addition,
on a transpac XT for a set of doubles or even a single?
 
Looks like adding the $15.25 mounting plates (as well as a doubles wing) puts you in business..
 
no, there is no real way to attach the backplate other than sexbolts. If you're doing it for weight, just buy a backplate. If you want it for stability, the stabilizer plates work very well for doubles. For additional weight, they make weighted STA's which can be used with the stabilizer plates, though not recommended.
