Tuesday, January 26th, we were all suited up, standing at the dhoni exitway, just seconds from jumping into the water when the dive was called because ... the mother ship had run fast aground on the reef!

This is the second time in less than 2 years that I've been diving from a liveaboard that has run aground! First it was the Red Sea Aggressor at Elphinstone Reef, Egypt in April 2014 and now MY Amba at Kuredu, Lhaviyani Atoll, Maldives!

It was refloated after a few tries of the dhoni towing, no one was injured, damage to the vessel appears minor. We resumed a normal, albeit delayed, dive schedule.

i saw the mv emperor superior grounded on a reef. woke up to our boat plus 2 other lob trying to pull it off. i'm amazed by the captains on these vessels sometimes.
