Northeast Florida Lionfish Blast March 29 - April 28, 2013

It is done...We are going to have a lionfish tournament in NE Florida. We have worked to try create a great format that fits our area's temperamental weather patterns.

We are gathering sponsors to have a huge raffle at the Diver's Meeting to raise money for TISIRI Corp., a local artificial reef company. Anyone interested in sponsoring can contact me or through PM or our web page.

FWCC has agreed to take any lionfish that we bring in, for research on mercury levels, stomach content, and location. Trying to do our part in helping ensure the future of diving in NE FL!

This is a great idea... thanks for putting it together! I can't believe how many we've seen off Jacksonville recently. Five years ago, we never saw any at all. I'm definitely gonna sign up for this and I think I have a few friends who will, too. Keep us posted on how it's going.

Small rule change update -- The Diver's meeting in no longer mandoatory, and the awards ceremony will be on Monday April 29th from 6-8 PM.

The awards were changed so there would not be a conflict with the opening weekend of grouper.
The Diver's meeting was changed due to people not being able to attend.

In order to be registered for the tournament - An original Legal Waiver form must be signed and turned in or mailed to Browns Creek Fish Camp before your first fishing day.

The raffle to support TISIRI will be held on March 28th at Mudville Grille, on Monument Rd. You must be present to win.

Members of the Northeast Florida Lionfish Blast will be on-site at Atlantic Pro Divers on Saturday, March 9th 2PM - 6PM to register people for the tournament. If you will not be able to make it to the Diver's Meeting, stop by and sign up here!


If you have already registered and are out at the beach stop by and say hi, you can also fill out the legal waiver so we don't have so much paper work on March 28th.


We will have a sponsorship gift bag for the first person who rolls a snake eyes with two dice. Stop by and give it a toss!
