We got a late start today and were unable to make a second dive once the wind came up. I was really looking forward to the next dive as I found next to nothing interesting during the first dive. As I was about to put my camera away, Merry took me to a pair of mating simnia snails.
After surfacing, we set up our gear for the next dive which would never come. We drove around the peninsula trying to find a sheltered site to no avail. Our gear was pretty salty when we got back home. Better luck next time.
Visibility at Garden Spot was eighteen feet with 58° water.
Flabellinopsis iodinea, Spanish Shawl
Tethya californiana, Orange puffball sponge
Haliclona sp.
Phoronipisis californica, California Phoronid
Simnia arcuata
