This article says that government leaders from Cayman and Honduras are working on a mutual trade agreement that may include direct Cayman Airways flights from Cayman to Roatan.
That might help bring down the costs of flying to Roatan and perhaps make it a bit easier because flights to Cayman from the US are comparatively inexpensive but sometimes it can be difficult and costly to get to Roatan.
For divers this might also make it easy to do a 2 country, 2-island trip.
