I am going on the Rhapsady of the Seas on Nov 14th. It goes to Key West, GC and Cozumel. I have booked dives for each of these stops through the cruise line. These will be my first salt water dives and I tend to be an air hog so shorter times don't bother me. Since I will need an "on the spot buddy" I don't mind there being more people. I am just curious if anyone has done any of these dives and if you can tell me what the current and depth were like. Also, I guess a 3mil should be enough exposure protection for November?

Thanks
Judy

In GCM there will probably be little if any current. The depth will in all likelyhood be less than 80 ft on the first dive, 60ft on the second. The boat will be tied up to a mooring ball so you will have to make your way back, but the guide should lead you there no problem.

In Coz, there will current, but how much can vary from day to day. You can count on current though. Probably have the same depths. In Coz, stay kinda close to the DM, he should have a float that the dive boat will follow so the captain will know where you are to retrieve you.

About the 3MM suit, well that all depends on you and your comfort level at 78-80 degrees. Here is an excellent piece of writing about selecting exposure protection: http://dive.scubadiving.com/talk/read.php?f=1&i=985341&t=985116
