Planning to do a Liveaboard diving in the Red Sea in July 2017. I have done 97 dives and has a advanced and nitrox certificate. Any suggestions as to boat/company/itinary (dive sites). I live in Australia and will be returning from UK. I will be travelling alone.

I hear very, very good things about Red Sea Explorers (MV Tala and MV Nouran). Booked for mid-August with them, will post a report here.

I take it you mean July 2018?

I am booked on board the MY Whirlwind ( Tornado Marine Fleet) in October doing the Wrecks and Reefs itinerary so will be posting a review afterwards.

Oops - brain fart. For some reason I had moved to 2017 in my mind... don't ask (think a combination of a long weekend diving, lack of sleep, a lot of drinking during the weekend and work interruptions played a part).

Red sea diving might be back to normal next year if the details of MS804 are released soon and the UK lifts restrictions.

Last week of April, 1st week of May, I did both the Southern Route and the Brothers/Daedalus/Elphinstone itinerary on the Red Sea Aggressor out of Port Ghalib. It was great diving and a fantastic boat and crew. There are many weeks available in 2016 at half price.

Who knows what 2017 will hold? If scuba tourism to Egypt does not improve, more operators and liveaboards may not be available.

Did Blue O Two, based in the UK. At that time I believe they had 3 boats based there. Did Brothers trip, everything was excellent. Right now there is no better values for live aboard diving. Will do it again if the middle east gets straighten out.

Red Sea Explorers are part of the Blue O Two fleet. Went with RSE last yeR. Good boat good crew, no complaints.

Wouldn't visit the Red Sea again there are uch better p,aces ( depending where you live). Indonesia is my current Fav. Went to Raja Ampat in Feb, and off to Komodo then Bali tomorrow for 3 weeks
