Don't know about your bc, but for slates try out one of those magnetic ones which you can erase by means of a slide. Being able to clear your slate easily while underwater allows you to make your writing as big as you want it (bigger=easier to read). I work as a divemaster and my slate allows me to communicate with those diving with me easily and clearly (very important if you are forced to change you dive plan mid-dive because of tricky currents, and great for ID'ing stuff). I use the Quest (who comes up with these names??!!) by Innovative Scuba Concepts, Inc. They're much bulkier than the normal slates so you really have to consider where to clip it so it doesn't interfere with your diving.

    enjoy your trip,
