Shipwrecks/2007 Late Registration & Updates

Late Registration Procedures

Due to the fact that a hot buffet lunch is provided, we greatly appreciate pre-registration so we have a better idea of how much food to have on hand. However, due to the delay in the mail, please DO NOT post registrations later than Monday, March 17, 2007.

After March 17th, you may still register on-line until March 26th.

After the 26th or if you can't register on-line, you may phone (905) 382-2389, or register by e-mail <marshal2@vaxxine.com>. You will receive a confirmation of your registration by phone or e-mail stating that your tickets/name tags may be picked up and paid for at the pre-registration table.

Walk-Ins

We order the food 24 hours prior to the event. At that time, we order for 25 people more than we have registered to cover those who register in the last 24 hours. Unregistered walk-ins are allowed (seating is not a problem); however, different coloured name tags will be issued and lunch and refreshments will not be included. No discount applies. There are restaurants and fast food outlets nearby. Doors open 8:00 AM; Show starts 9:00 AM sharp.

Latest Updates

The NDA has always been noted for our calorie replenishment program. We have always taken pride in the food we have served at our events. This year for the first time, we are not preparing the food ourselves. Chef Paul’s catering from Welland Ontario is supplying the food to the same standards that we have had in the past. This is being done on a per/ head basis, which is why we can only offer meals to pre registered guests this year. A full 25% of our ticket price goes directly to meals and refreshments.

As in the past, speakers will have tables set up to meet & greet, sell videos, books, sign autographs etc.

We now have a total of 72 door prizes and the list is still growing. This includes items such as regulators, cameras, dive charters, books, and clothing to name a few items. A complete list can be found at

http://www.vaxxine.com/advtech/shipwrecks/sw2007/door07.htm

A number of non-profit groups will also be setting up displays. Save Ontario Shipwrecks, Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association, John Date Helmets, Great Lakes Historical Society / Maritime Archeological Survey Team, Ontario Underwater Council, Canadian Coast Guard, Erie Quest and Diver Magazine have confirmed. POW and Ontariodiving.com are pending.

The Fort Erie Underwater Recovery Unit will once again be running a 50/50 draw to benefit the Lake Erie (Eastern Basin) Mooring Project. The NDA will be selling Divers Log Books at the club table with all profits going to the project as well.

Back by popular demand, the NDA will also have a limited number of Shipwrecks/2007 T, Golf and lightweight sweatshirts available for sale.

We have selected a number of 5 minute shorts which will be shown at this years’ event. They include:

Islander Ice Dive- Steve Schultz
New Discoveries “McGrath & Florida”- Doug King
CHAA Dive Recovery Team- Chris Vern
OUC Interactive Shipwreck Directory- Paul Tetley

Looking forward to another great day.
