7 nights, two islands, two-inter-island flights, 5 diving days, accommodation, photography coaching, yoga.

This is an escorted, land-based Great Hammerhead and Tiger Shark trip in the Bahamas, March 12 to 19, 2018, with some Silkies, Caribbean reef sharks, and nurse sharks thrown in for good measure.

Includes
Domestic flights Nassau – Bimini – Nassau. Accommodation (3 nights Bimini Big Game Club, Alice Town Bimini, 4 nights in a private beach front luxury villa shared by the group), transfers, dives without equipment.

Dives
2 days double tank diving with Great Hammerheads, 1 Silky shark dive, 1 Caribbean Reef shark dive on Runway Wall, 1 Caribbean Reef shark feed on the Ray of Hope wreck, 2 days double tank diving at Green Cay with tiger sharks from Nassau Stuart Cove’s dive centre, 2 days Great Hammerhead diving with Neal Watson’s dive centre.

The Tiger shark dives are at a new location that shark expert Stuart Cove has carefully prepared, without the multiple inconveniences of Tiger Beach near Grand Bahama. We will be the only people on the site, and with a bit more depth, not suffer from poor visibility of the wind picks up. Max group size is 12.

Tuesday 13 March 2 Great Hammerhead dives, night at Big Game Club

Meals on Nassau can be taken at a number of restaurants within walking distance of the villas, and your hosts Christopher and Ines can also shop and cook for you.

Photography coaching
Provided by Indigo Safaris’ founder and underwater photographer Christopher Bartlett. Christopher’s work has been published round the world, and over the last decade he has had more than 100 articles published on a range of diving and marine conservation subjects, and to date has a dozen dive magazine cover shots to his name.

Yoga
Ines Moosmann is a London-trained yoga teacher, an avid diver, and amateur photographer. In the past year she has taught in a number of exotic locations, from the dunes of the Namib desert to the decks of liveaboards off the coasts of Mexico, Cuba and the Maldives. Her sessions are an excellent way to either prepare for a day of diving, or to unwind and relax at the end of the day.

This looks like an amazing trip. I won't be able to go this year, but I might start "saving my pennies" and look into it for next spring.

Hi,

I'm not running it next spring as I will be leading trips to the Turks and Caicos to snorkel with Humpback whales Feb 2 to 9, and then in March, 9 to 21, to Socorro for a 9-night cruise with an add-on to swim with Makos and Smooth hammerheads. The next one will be in 2020.

Thanks for the update. Looks like I will miss it. As they say, timing is everything.
