you sure it's a half inch neck not a 7/8 neck? how old is it? I could be wrong, but i think the 1/2" were all yoke. You probably have a 7/8 neck and you can't get those in yoke valves per DOT regulations.
 
If it's the PST tank with the 300 bar valve you might be stuck with a DIN valve.

There is no problem that can't be solved with a liberal application of sex, tequila, money, duct tape, or high explosives, not necessarily in that order.
 
Sherwood suggests taking the tank to an authorized dealer to have the tank identified, tested and inspected. It is vital that the tank have the correct valve with the correct working pressure burst disc and that the valve be properly installed, lubricated and reinspected. We only sell 3/4" valves currently. We wish you the best of luck in getting the tank situated the way you want it.
