The water was cold today.

Darkness engulfed me, laid around me
And I hover'd there, watching my bubbles flee.
The sun bolted in as sheets and
struck them into a thousand diamonds.

The water was cold today.

I lurked, unmoving, listening,
And your face flashed through my mind.
For a moment I thought I heard your voice.

The water was cold today.

But my blood flowed,
like the sea that had swallowed me.
And you kept me warm.
