We've got a dive trip to Curacao scheduled for next week and I'm wondering what the vis is like post-Hurricane Matthew now. One of my buddies is in Bonaire right now and reports that the vis hasn't recovered over there yet.

Anyone have any first hand accounts about how things are in Curacao right now?

Some sites are great, some are a litlle less. dont think its Mathew to blame.

Just got back from Curacao. The viz was fine. Some of the reefs, especially those from beach entries, received a pretty good sand cover from the wind & surf on the backside of Matthew. From our Westpunt area stay specifically Playa Lagun, Playa Kalki (Alice in Wonderland), San Juan ( Playa Shon Mosa, Playa Manzalina), and Playa Grandi (Piskado) to the west (the east was better, but you're mostly diving there for the turtles so it was still fun :)) were affected. We had plans to dive other beach entries and go further east, but after seeing the sand cover we adjusted our plans. We were staying at Marazul and the dives there from the cliff entries were excellent. We also added a few more boat dives than originally planned. Watamula (3 times :)) was beautiful along with Hell's Corner. Lots of "rocks" on the beaches and pier damage was repaired/cleaned up by the time we left. It took a couple of weeks. Thanks to all those that worked so hard on the clean up. We had a great time and the diving we did was nice.

If you're going and don't already know, don't miss the coconut fish & African peanut soup at Trio Penotti. It was terrific. Have fun.
