Hello:

We will be going to Cayman Brac this August. We would like to rent a house / condo. There seems to be a great selection on the island.

We are interested in a beach side location with calm water.

Is one end or side of the island best for this or is it better to stay by the airport?

Thanks.

Depends on which way the wind blows. Northside is fine for shore diving most of the summer except when the hurricanes hit. The island is so small it doesn't matter where you rent. South side has beautiful homes and pools, 1 out of 5 days it will be calm enough to dive. I dive mostly Spot Bay from the shore and east, and that's about the roughest spot. It's also where the biggest schools of fish swim through..

Airport area is busy and smells of salt marsh and dump. Plus the flies and mosquitos are abundant. Just my opinion. Anywhere works. Cheers

image.jpeg image.jpeg Our favorite place to stay on CB is Brac Caribbean beach village, 2 bedroom condo, unit 13. The sister resort there is called Carib Sands. On site includes swimming pools, sandy small beach, restaurant, the "famous" 2 story dock, protected reef steps away and valet service diving right in front. BTW, both of those condos (and a 3rd on the east end,) were recently featured on TV on one of those Househunting shows. Wherever you stay, have a great time!
