It's terrible when your partner thumsb the dive......so did that nights' events mean we will we see you on the Solo Diver forum

Even if the partner didn't go in with you, there is NO WAY this could be considered a "solo" dive.

Did you take a pull on the regs?
If you are not properly trained for overhead environments your partner did the right thing, however, a negative entry may have helped.
More than likely the salinity would be so high Gary would be stuck just floating on the surface.Wildcard:
