World War II Shipwrecks of Newfoundland: In Pictures takes readers under the surface of the cold north Atlantic and into the ghostly world of wreck diving. Over 100 breathtaking photographs offer a rare view of the World War II shipwrecks that lie in the waters around the island of Newfoundland.

The journey starts at Bell Island, where four iron ore carriers sunk by German U-boats have become a popular destination for wreck-divers from around the world. The eerie scenes inspire awe and reverence for these long-lost vessels. A glimpse of a German torpedo rounds out the first section of the book.

Next, the waters of the Burin Peninsula reveal the recently discovered wreck of the destroyer USS Truxtun and the supply ship USS Pollux which sank in 1942, taking 204 souls with them.

Throughout the book, I try to offer historical context for the wrecks, as well as insight into the experience of wreck diving—and the excitement and magic of discovering large-scale historical relics.

The book is a great way to let your bubble watching friends know why you dive. I wrote this book with the hope that inspires people to jump in and learn to dive.
