I'll update the first 2 posts as a running synopsis of this thread.

Where: Leo Carrillo

What is the Wrinkles Dive?

This is a monthly gathering of all divers and non-divers in SoCal who can make it. It's a lot of fun involving diving, eating, socializing and now even camping!

It all started when our SoCal member, Wrinkles, mentioned to a group that she dove with that it would be really fun to be able to get together at least once a month. Pasley, took off with the idea and announced the first "Wrinkles Dive". The rest is history!

It's open to everyone of all skill levels from "I'm not certified yet" to "Do we really have to dive the Andrea Doria again?"

We've found this to be a great way to meet our fellow divers locally and many new dive buddies have been found though these "dive soirees".

We have not gotten an opening for a campground, so it looks like it will be a single day of diving. Of course, that's also going to be a great day, but not a whole weekend of dive fun.

NOTE: If anyone can get a campsite at Leo Carrillo for these days, please get them!

If we are all checking on the Reserve America site often, we will increase our changes of getting a campground due to a cancellation. We usually reserve Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. This allows us to hang out all day on Sunday and do more BBQing instead of having to vacate the campground by noon on Sunday.

Either way, I look forward to seeing everyone there!

Christian

I will be there on Sat. I am looking forward to this event. This divespot is one of my favorites and is almost always good!

You can put me down for the Hot Dogs and Buns.

Hey Rick,

I've been trying to update the first couple of posts in this thread, but keep getting database errors.

I'm keeping the information updated here until these issues are fixed and then I'll update the first posts in this thread.

I look forward to diving at Leo! The last time I showed up for the Wrinkles Dive at Leo with a toe that I either broke or bruised very badly the night before, so I didn't get to dive.

Christian

I am super excited. I was actually looking to dive in Leo C. this weekend for the first time. Me and my husband will come for the 2pm and 5 pm dives on Saturday. We will bring food to share. Please contact me if I can bring anything else!

It will be great to meet you and your husband this Saturday. The times listed in the original post are very "loose" and represent the "possibilities" more than an actual schedule.

What typically happens is that people arrive at various times of the day and stagger their times in the water, so some people are diving while others are on their surface interval.

I will send you a PM with my cell phone number, so that you have way to reach us if you need to. Keep in mind that I won't have it with me if I'm on a dive, so I could be out of reach for a couple of hours at a time.

The current plan will be to be at the day use area at the north end of Leo Carrillo State Park.

Christian

Christian,

I will bring chips and dip! I can only make the first two dives...

Thomas

Looks like I'm in, with 2 non divers.

Still see a need for burgers and buns.
Now covered.
