Nitrox is useful for extending bottom time when there are no shallows to play in at the end of the dive, or where most of the action is down 60 feet or more. Having been to Rotan a few times I would say that Nitrox will not resulting extended bottom times, especially on the South side of the island, or if your air consumption is not really all that great.

It may provide a greater margin of safety, but the operative word is "may". Some folks feel so strongly about this that they will not dive anywhere where nitrox is not available. Others, like me, use it only when it will provide extended bottom times without deco stops.
